Drogheda United and Derry City face off at Head in the Game Park this evening in the final game for both sides before the mid-season break.
Tim Clancy’s side come into this game unbeaten in their last six matches with 15 goals scored in the last four games and only two conceded.
Monday evening’s 4-1 win at home to Longford Town included a first goal of the season from Ronan Murray, a stunning free kick into the top corner past Lee Steacy, and Mark Doyle’s sixth goal of the season, just before half time, gave the Boynesiders a 2-0 half-time lead.
Longford halved the deficit early in the second half through Aaron Dobbs and pushed for an equaliser for much of the second half.
However, two goals from substitute Jordan Adeyemo, bringing his tally to three for the season, sealed the three points for Drogheda.
In team news, Mark Hughes, Dinny Corcoran and Hugh Douglas continue to miss out as they recover from injuries.
Brandon Bermingham is sidelined with a quad injury while Jake Hyland is doubtful. Luke Heeney is again available, returning from suspension following his red card against Finn Harps.
