Plans Lodged for 80 Apartments and Creche at Bettystown Square

This week, East Meath marks the end of the Celtic Tiger era, with the last remaining eyesore building in Bettystown Square as Christabelle Grimes, of Shannon Homes, confirmed that their company will lodge a proposal for 80 apartments with a new community green open space, and a large creche facility with Meath County Council.

The construction will involve demolishing the existing building’s central core to create an attractive courtyard amenity surrounded by modern A3 rating residential units, and we complement our architects, Oppermann Associates, who have thoughtfully managed to create these apartments within the existing building’s footprint. We are now hoping the community will be fully supportive of our application. If permission is to be granted in July/August, a phased programme of work will commence before year-end, with a build-out time of 18 months to 2 years to completion.

There is a very strong demand for apartments in this excellent location with its high-quality amenities, including the fabulous Bettystown Beach, whilst some of the residences will, of course, have sea views. We have worked with Meath County Council over the last number of months to bring this development to reality.
