One of the most popular shops in East Meath has re-opened after being closed for three and a half years following a fire.
Pat’s Centra Supermarket was officially back in business on Thursday in Bettystown Square and the great man Pat Boshell, the owner, was there to proudly open the doors of the new premises.
Pat said it has been a long and difficult journey since the fire but it’s so good to see the heart of Bettystown Square restored.
The new supermarket is the state of the art shop with the biggest deli in the locality.
The Post Office at the Centre Shop will also be re-opening from next Monday.
Pat and his team received loads of good luck messages on social media.
Eveline McCabe wrote:” Best of luck with your new shop Patrick and team, you were very badly missed. The centre of Bettystown is back bigger and better than ever.”
Angela Hageman said : ” Great news for Bettystown. Best of luck to Pat and his team.”
The Boshell family have been trading in Bettystown for decades. Their shop was gutted following a fire in May,2022 and the 30 full time and part time staff were left out of work.
Pat vowed to re-open his shop and yesterday he finally did. Next door neighbour Macrari’s Chipper also issued a message on Facebook welcoming him back.
