Switchboard at Our Lady of Lourdes is out of service due to cyber attack on the HSE
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, one of the country’s busiest acute hospitals, has said that the cyber attack has had ‘a major impact on all IT systems,’ and that the main hospital switchboard is out of operation.
In a statement from both it and from the Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, Fiona Brady the General Manager of both, said the Emergency Department ‘remains open.’
However she said, ‘can I ask for your patience as all patient records must be entered manually and it is envisaged that patients attending this department will experience significant delays.’
She said the Ransomware Cyber-attack ‘is having a major impact on all IT systems used within each department in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Dundalk Hospital.’
She said anyone who has an Outpatient appointment should attend as planned.
Routine radiology tests, X-Rays, CT and ultrasound scans are cancelled and the main hospital switchboard is out of service.

In county Meath, Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan said all services ‘are running as normal, however some diagnostics may be running slower today and staff are working on manual systems so we ask for the publics patience as there may be some delays.’
