Friends of Ardee Bog at this year's Patrick's Day Parade in Ardee.
Friends of Ardee Bog (FAB) is a community-led group of artists, filmmakers, designers, health care workers, gardeners and retired people in the Ardee area and they are running a unique festival celebrating the beauty and individuality of Ardee Bog.
Called the Bog Café, the festivities take place at the Old Church, John Street, Ardee from Friday to Sunday, September 23rs to 25th.
Friday September 23rd is the Global Climate Strike, with actions and events happening all over the world. Over the three-day weekend in Ardee, there will be an inspirational programme of talks, workshops, walking tours, poetry, live music, and film screenings exploring Ardee Bog and the ecological and cultural heritage of Irish peatlands.
The Bog Cafe will open on Friday, September 23rd with creative workshops with local primary school students, a conversation with Pádraic Fogarty from the Irish Wildlife Trust, followed by an evening of extraordinary events celebrating Culture Night, including a Bog Bingo extravaganza and Turfman from Ardee Battle Of The Bands challenge.
