Lú Festival of Light to go ahead tonight after Saturday cancellation

Lú Festival of Light will go ahead in Drogheda tonight, Sunday, 25th October, after Saturday evening’s programme was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

Organisers confirmed this morning that tonight’s festival will proceed, with projection shows beginning from 6pm at all sites.

The Cottage Market will open from 5pm in the Dominican Church, while the collaboration with Drogheda Classical Music, ‘Gods, Monsters and Opera’, will take place at Droichead Arts Centre at 3.30pm, with tickets still available.

Organisers said they are looking forward to welcoming people back into Drogheda this evening to enjoy the build-up around the town and the light projections after dark.

Saturday night’s programme was cancelled following consultation with event safety partners due to the weather, with the decision taken in the interests of public safety.
