Drogheda United have confirmed the signing of midfielder Jago Godden on a season long loan from Walsall.
The 22 year old joins the club after signing for Walsall from Bedford Town and arrives in Drogheda following a productive spell in the National League North. Drogheda United manager Kevin Doherty said he has been monitoring the midfielder for some time.
Jago is a player the group have been tracking for some time. We’ve watched him a lot, and he is a player I’m really delighted to have.
He’s a big, strong, powerful midfielder who is also technically very good. From our many meetings together I was very impressed with his desire to improve. and we will do everything to help him achieve that.
Speaking after completing the move, Godden said he was excited to get started at United.
It has been a very quick process and a quick turnaround. It has been a mental week, but I am just so happy to be here now.
I felt loved and appreciated as a player when speaking to Kevin. From every conversation with him I could see a clear pathway, and I am really looking forward to being a part of this process.
