A man in his 20s is in a critical condition following a stabbing in Drogheda in the early hours of this morning.
The incident is understood to have taken place at a property on Laurence Street in the town centre. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the injured man was brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
He remains in a critical condition.
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at a Garda station in the North West Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí have not yet disclosed a motive for the attack and investigations are ongoing.
