Louth Voters Urged to Register Ahead of October 24th Presidential Election

It is now your responsibility to ensure that you are registered to vote.

New Registration
The Presidential Election will take place on 24 th October 2025. If you are eligible to vote and not on the register of electors you must apply on or before Tuesday 7 th October 2025.

Eligible to vote in an Election?
(a) You must be 18 years of age on or before Friday 24 th October 2025.
(b) You must be living full time at the address at which you wish to be registered.
(c) You must have Irish citizenship.

How to apply:
Online on www.checktheregister.ie
Hard copy forms (ERF1) are available at all Louth County Council Offices, Local Libraries, Garda Stations and the main Post Offices. Copies are available to download from www.checktheregister.ie.

Postal Vote

If you have an illness or disability, or due to work/service/study reasons you are prevented from attending a polling station on polling day, you may be entitled to vote by post.

If you had an illness/disability postal vote in the last general election in 2024, there is no
need to re-apply.

Applications for entry onto the postal voters list must be received on or before the closing date which is Monday 29 th September 2025

All completed forms must be returned by either email to register@louthcoco.ie or by post to Franchise Section, Louth County Council, County Hall, Millennium Centre, Dundalk, Co. Louth A91 KFW6.
