Louth tech entrepreneur to reveal how he went from zero to €10m

As part of its Virtual Business Book Club series The Mill Enterprise Hub is to host an online meetup on 22nd April at 7pm, with technology entrepreneur Shane Brett.

Shane, who is the founder and ex-CEO of Gecko Governance, has vast experience of setting up, funding, and scaling technology start-ups worldwide. His new book ‘Zero to €10 Million’ follows the exact steps and processes he used to reach a $10 million dollar valuation and raise multiple rounds of funding from venture capital investors.

Innovation and Enterprise Manager at The Mill, Breanndán Casey, says “Zero to $10 Million is a practical step by step guide that teaches entrepreneurs’ how to build a $10 million dollar technology business.

“It describes in detail how to create a great product, find a brilliant team, raise money from professional investors, and then scale the company globally” he said.

“Shane is exactly the type of Fintech entrepreneur we want to develop in Drogheda and across the wider region and aligns with The Fintech Corridor project to support the development of a Fintech Cluster from Dublin to Belfast. This is a great opportunity to hear Shane’s story and to discuss how to scale a technology company from a regional HQ”.

The Virtual Business Book Club members meet monthly to discuss a relevant book and will be analysing ‘Zero to €10 Million’ at a subsequent event on May 20th.

Anna Kurtisa of The Mill is delighted that Shane agreed to present his book in April “It’s wonderful to be able to hear first-hand from Shane and to get a deeper insight into the writing of the book.

“The text is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs, budding founders, and anyone who wants to understand how to build a successful technology start-up from the ground up.

“It breaks down the mystery behind how to grow a new technology business and explains what it is actually like to be a start-up CEO and how to manage the daily challenges and constant stress”.

Established by The Mill in November 2018 as ‘Drogheda Business Book Club’ , the focus has moved to an online forum and attendees have participated from across the Globe in the renamed ‘Virtual business Book Club’. The priority is on reading and discussing a combination of the latest business books alongside acknowledged classics on Strategy, Innovation, Business biographies, and a plethora of other relevant business headings.

It’s also a fun way to network and discuss how and why the books impact your business life. Online meetings take place every month, usually for 30 minutes over lunch.
