NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE DERELICT SITE COMPULSORILY UNDER

THE DERELICT SITES ACT, 1990 (AS AMENDED).

1. Notice is hereby given that Louth County Council (hereinafter referred to as the “Local Authority”) in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by Section 14 of the Derelict Sites Act 1990 (as amended), intend to acquire compulsorily under the said Act the derelict site described hereunder.

2. A map of the said derelict site has been deposited at County Hall Millennium Centre Dundalk Co. Louth A91 KFW6 and may be inspected there during the hours of 09.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).

3. Any owner, lessee or occupier (except a tenant for a month or a period less than a month) may, on or before 23rd October 2026 at 17.00 submit to the Local Authority an objection to the proposed compulsory acquisition of the derelict site. Any such objection must be in writing stating the grounds of the objection and addressed to the Local Authority at: Vacant Homes Officer County Hall Millennium Centre Dundalk Co. Louth A91 KFW6.

4. The Derelict Sites Act 1990 (as amended) provides that if an objection is made to the proposed compulsory acquisition of a derelict site and the objection is not withdrawn, the derelict site shall not be acquired compulsorily by the local authority without the consent of An Coimisiún Pleanála.

SCHEDULE

Description of the Derelict Site proposed to be acquired

The property comprises an extended detached cottage together with gardens to the front, side and rear, set on an overall site area of 0.25 acres / 0.10 hectares approx. The property is developed of traditional brick and concrete block construction with a painted dash exterior finish under a concrete tile roof and part flat roof. The residence extends to 115.5 sq. m. / 1,243 sq. Ft. approx. and is laid out to provide the following: entrance hall, living room, kitchen/dining room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The property fronts the L7162 (local road) and is situated approx. 48 metres from the R132 (Dublin Road) – the principle routeway to Dundalk Town Centre.
