Lingotot Drogheda & East Meath turning Learning languages into child’s play!

Today more than ever languages are vital to both our social and working lives and it is well known that the time to learn languages is in childhood.

Lingotot Drogheda & East Meath has just launched its award – winning language services to the children (and parents!) of Drogheda and East Meath.

Lingotot Drogheda & East Meath is part of an international teaching franchise offering language classes in pre – school settings, primary schools, and community centres to children under 11 years old and their parents (if they would like to join our parent- toddler groups)!

The Lingotot franchise is going through a rapid expansion in Ireland, having opened its doors in Galway, Limerick, Cork and Dublin since 2018.

Lingotot Drogheda & East Meath’s Owner and Managing Director Elena Calavia explains:

The Lingotot motto is… Where languages are child’s play!  Our classes are so much fun that children do not realise how much they are learning!

“Children progress through an age-appropriate programme where they develop their oral, writing, and reading comprehension skills in their target language. Children learn in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment using the Lingotot methodology.

“Classes are lively and interactive yet based on sound educational research.  The activities are designed to expose the children to new sounds and vocabulary in an engaging and child-centred way.”.

Elena has been living in the Mornington area since the late 1990s, having moved from Spain, her native country. She worked for many years in the legal profession until she decided to return to her first love of languages as she is also a qualified teacher.

“Having grown in a multilingual household I understand first – hand the enormous benefits that learning languages at a young age entail” Elena says.

“In a world that is more and more globalised, exposing children to other languages and cultures from a young age contributes greatly to their understanding of the world and enhances their life experiences, not just in a future work environment, but socially and culturally.”

Initially Lingotot Drogheda will be offering French and Spanish classes at The Barbican Centre in Drogheda on Fridays and Saturdays, and at Julianstown Community Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at various primary schools in the area as part of the Department of Education Modern Languages sampler modules for primary schools starting this term.

Other languages and locations will follow in 2022.Summer camps planning for 2022 combining nature, art and languages in the lovely Sonairte Eco centre are also well on the way.

The number of pupils per class is limited to ensure maximum fun while learning so register soon to avoid disappointment.

All Lingotot teachers are fully insured, qualified, garda vetted, first aid qualified and Tusla certified. Covid 19 compliance is strictly adhered to.
