REGISTER OF ELECTORS
It is now your responsibility to ensure that you are registered to vote.
The European Parliament and Local Elections will take place on Friday 7th June 2024.
If you are eligible to vote and not on the register of electors you must apply on or before Monday 20th May 2024.
To vote you must be:
- 18 years of age on or before Friday 7th June 2024 (polling day).
- Ordinarily resident at the address at which you want to register.
- Irish Citizen and EU Citizens can vote at the European Parliament and Local Elections
- Non EU Citizens can vote at the Local Elections

- On-line on checktheregister.ie
- Hard copy forms (ERF1) are available at all Louth County Council offices, Local Libraries, Garda Stations and the main Post Offices. Copies are available to download from checktheregister.ie.
Postal Vote
If you have an illness or disability, or due to work/service/study reasons you are prevented from attending a polling station on polling day, you may be entitled to vote by post.
If you had an illness/disability postal vote in the last Referendums on 8th March 2024, there is no need to re-apply.

Applications for entry onto the postal voters list must be received on or before the closing date which is Saturday 11th May 2024
All completed forms must be returned by either email to register@louthcoco.ie or by post to Franchise Section, Louth County Council, County Hall, Millennium Centre, Dundalk, Co. Louth A91 KFW6.
