The annual ACE AC Coca-Cola 5K took place in Termonfeckin last Sunday In ideal running conditions which made for some good times.
Starting at the Termonfeckin GAA grounds, the runners headed down the hill and left at the River Boyne and proceeded up towards Queensborough and back again, finishing back at the GAA grounds.
The men’s winner, Danny Nugent from the host Club Ace AC, led from the start and finished in a very impressive time of 15.23.
In second place was Dublin City Harriers runner Oran O’Hare just 25 seconds behind Danny in 15.48 while third place went to Niall Carbery from Clonliffe Harriers.
The ladies race was equally competitive with the top three athletes all being juniors. The winner was St Peter’s Athlete Dearbhla Allen in 19.04 with Ace AC’s Eimear Cooney, just back from an Athletics Ireland training camp in Portugal, second in 19.22. Eimear was followed closely behind, by her clubmate Sholah Lawernce in third.
There were various other categories and lots of prizes on the day with all competitors going home with a fabulous goodie bag.

It was a very successful event with so much support from local businesses, local residents and the many elite level athletes and fun runners from Louth and beyond. Ace AC would like to thank everybody for supporting the event.
