Heritage walking tour on the hidden gems of Drogheda

With the longer evenings and better weather, this Wednesday, June 2, sees the return of one of the popular historical Walk ‘n’ Talks in Drogheda.

Presented by Community Historian, Brendan Matthews, this Wednesday evening’s Walk ‘n’ Talk will start at Georges Square at the junction of the George’s Street and Narrow West St. at 7.30pm.

Titled “Hidden Gems of Drogheda”, Brendan will lead the Walk and Talk along the streets and lanes, where he will outline aspects of the history of the old Borough.

He will delve into the significance of some of the buildings and the surrounding streetscape and will speak about events, happenings and incidents of Drogheda’s Storied Past.

This particular Walk ‘n’ Talk will take around an hour finishing up along the Merchants Quay area on the north bank of the Boyne.

There is no Charge for this event; however, Donations for the continued Research and Study of Community History will be greatly received.

Please wear face masks and be mindful of social distancing.
