Golfers, local businesses and supporters came together at Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club for the annual Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre Charity Golf Classic.
The event took place on Friday, 11th September, raising funds to support the wide range of free cancer support services provided by the Drogheda-based centre.
Teams took to the course throughout the day, with Carr Golf taking first place.
The winning team was made up of Conor O’Reilly, Eoin McPhillips, Jordan Lee Venest and Nathan Donovan.
Carr Golf was also among the sponsors supporting this year’s event.

The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre gave particular thanks to Envirogreen, which continued its support as main sponsor of the Charity Golf Classic, and to Tom O’Connor for his ongoing commitment to the event.
Centre Manager Susanne Odberger Kelly said the success of the day depended on the support of players, businesses and volunteers.

Demand for services continues to grow
The Centre says demand for its services is continuing to increase.
In 2025, 647 people attended the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre, with approximately 4,500 attendances across its services.
So far this year, the Centre says it has already welcomed just under 300 new clients, with new client registrations running approximately 22% higher than in 2025.

“This growing demand makes every donation and fundraising event more important than ever.
“The money raised through events such as our Charity Golf Classic helps us to continue providing our services completely free of charge to individuals and families affected by cancer. We are so appreciative of everyone who played, sponsored, donated or helped behind the scenes.”
Free support for people affected by cancer
The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre, based on George’s Street in Drogheda, provides a wide range of services for people living with and affected by cancer, as well as their families and friends.
Supports include cancer support nursing, professional counselling, reflexology and other complementary therapies, physiotherapy and lymphoedema support, support groups, information and education programmes, wig support, prosthesis and bra fitting, and practical assistance.
All of the Centre’s services are provided free of charge.
