From Volunteer to Head of Operations: Niamh Leonard Takes on Key Role at Drogheda Utd

A new Head of Operations has been appointed by the Drogs as the club goes from strength to strength.

It is Niamh Leonard, a long time volunteer at United Park and a lifelong Drogheda Utd fan.
 
She is to replace Edel Sweeney who is to become the club’s Finance Manager.
 
In a statement Drogheda Utd said Niamh has been an integral part of the football club for years giving countless hours of her time to support match day operations, community events and the smooth running of the club behind the scenes.
 
It also said Edel Sweeney in her new role will focus on strengthening the club’s financial systems and supporting its long term sustainability.
 
The CEO of Drogheda Utd Rian Wogan welcomed the management changes. 
 
She said:” After years of dedication to the club as a volunteer, I am delighted Niamh is joining the team on a full time basis . Her passion for the club combined with her outstanding work in retail and ticketing , make her an exceptional choice for Head of Operations.
 
“At the same time , Edel’s move into the Finance Manager role will give us even greater focus on building a stable and ambitious future.
 
“Drogheda United is committed to a sustainable future and building a strong and capable administration team is part of our long term plans.”
