Visitors to the Drogheda Motor Show this Saturday will have the chance to explore not only a stunning collection of vehicles but also the rich history of one of the town’s oldest quarters.
As part of the Drogheda Motor Show, Community Historian Brendan Matthews will lead two free History and Heritage Walk n Talk tours around the West Gate Quarter.
The guided walks will begin from the Old Abbey Car Park, with the first tour starting at 11am and the second at 2pm.
Each walk will last approximately 45 to 50 minutes and will offer participants an opportunity to discover the fascinating history, heritage and stories associated with this historic part of Drogheda.
Presented in a relaxed and informal style, the tours are suitable for all ages and are easy underfoot, making them accessible to a wide range of visitors.
The walks form part of the wider Drogheda Motor Show programme, adding a cultural and historical dimension to one of the town’s most popular annual events.
