‘UNDERDROGS – A League of Ireland Story’ is a new documentary that reveals rare behind the scenes footage of Drogheda United’s second and third seasons back in the League of Ireland Premier Division is to be premiered tomorrow night at the TLT.

Conjuring up all the energy, passion and determination of the legendary Drogs, local filmmaker Conor McGuinness gained exclusive access to showcase the inside story of the players, coaches, volunteers and supporters of a part-time community club in a largely full-time league.

Filmed, edited and directed by McGuinness and co-directed by local singer/songwriter, Seán Matthews, the documentary gives a fresh insight into all the highs and lows, the power and the glory, and the unique community spirit of Drogheda United F.C.

An original soundtrack score by Drogheda composer, Breifne Holohan provides an empathetic commentary to the film, taking the viewer on a whirlwind journey of emotions as a football club strives for success often in the face of great challenges and adversity.

The soundtrack consists of newly written music by Holohan, compositions from his ongoing electronic/ambient project, six-string drum, and sound design including many of the renowned chants heard regularly around United Park.
