A mix of local and touring talent is set to take to the stage in Drogheda this week, with Dyer Streets joining rapper and producer Amplifi for a live show in Sarsfields.
Amplifi, who is based in Westmeath, will perform at the Chord Road venue this Friday, May 8, as part of a mini tour promoting his album About Face, You Warrior.
He will be joined by Drogheda band Dyer Streets, who return to the stage after previous performances in Sarsfields during the Bagful of Songs series. The band features John, Geoff and Gavan, along with vocalist Aisling, who is now a full time member.
“We’ll be on stage at 9pm, sharp, in Sarsfields,” said guitarist Geoff.
“Our carers arrive with our Complan about 9.30 then Amplifi will let loose,” added bassist Gavan.
The connection between the acts comes through Gavan, who has been working with Amplifi in a management role since earlier this year.
“Amplifi, or Jack, as I call him, and I have worked together on projects for a few years now. He is a serious artist so I was happy to get involved at this early stage in his career.”
Dyer Streets will also appear as special guests at a Dublin date in Anseo on Camden Street on Thursday, May 14.
For those who miss the Drogheda show, Amplifi is also due to play Sea Legs at the Spirit Store in Dundalk on Wednesday, May 20.
