Drogheda Wheelers Cycle Club are organising a female only leisure cycle on Sunday 13th March starting at 10am as part of Women In Sport Week 7th-13th March 2022.
Starting and finishing at The Thatch on the Donore Road, the cycle will be 20k long taken at an easy pace suitable for all abilities.
It is open to all over 14 years and will be fully supervised. There will be tea/coffee and scones on return. Cycle helmets must be worn.
There will be a short briefing on club information and rules of the road before departure.
Cycling Ireland’s Women in Sport campaign is funded by Sport Ireland and aligns with their policy on Women in Sport which targets four areas – Active Participation, Coaching and Officiating, Visibility and Leadership and Governance.
During this week they will highlight each pillar and celebrate across all four target areas.
The aim of Women In Sport Week is to:
- Celebrate every women and girl who rides, coaches, officiates, volunteers, works in and leads out on Women in Sport.
- Promote and highlight the ongoing work within clubs under the topic Women in Sport
