Drogheda United return to action on Friday evening when they welcome Derry City to Sullivan and Lambe Park.
The Boynesiders go into the game following a 4-1 defeat away to Shamrock Rovers on Monday.
Rovers were 2-0 ahead at half time thanks to goals from corners by John McGovern and Matt Healy.
Mark Doyle pulled one back four minutes into the second half after directing an effort from Jago Godden past Ed McGinty.
However, a second goal from McGovern and another from Maleace Asamoah secured a 4-1 win for Stephen Bradley’s side.
The earlier meeting between Drogheda and Derry City this season finished 2-2. Second half goals from Mark Doyle and Warren Davis earned Drogheda a point after Michael Duffy and Adam O’Reilly had given Derry a two goal lead before half time.
The sides met five times last season, with both teams recording one win each and drawing twice in the league. Drogheda also came out on top in the FAI Cup after winning on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Scott Brady, Owen Lambe, Ethan O’Brien, and Bridel Bosakani remain sidelined through injury. Ryan Brennan is doubtful after missing the Shamrock Rovers game, while Shane Farrell is available again following suspension.
