The Drogheda Football Scheme continues to play an important role in supporting local GAA, soccer and rugby clubs while providing training, work experience and employment pathways for people who are long-term unemployed.
Over the past 18 months, 13 participants have successfully completed a Major Horticulture Award, representing a significant achievement for everyone involved. This success reflects the commitment of the participants and the support provided by Supervisor Bernie Woodcock and Assistant Supervisor Judith Chalmers MacEneaney.
In recognition of its contribution to the community, the Department of Social Protection presented the Drogheda Football Scheme with a plaque to mark 30 years of Community Employment. The presentation highlights the scheme’s long-standing role in skills development, inclusion and community wellbeing.
By using football as a vehicle for personal development, education and community engagement, the Drogheda Football Scheme continues to strengthen local clubs and reinforce community ties across Drogheda.
