Drogheda Creative Writers to Host Poetry Readings for Culture Night

Drogheda Creative Writers will take part in three special events for Culture Night on Friday, 19th September, showcasing poetry, collaboration, and creativity across the town.

At 3pm, in collaboration with Just Write, the group will host a poetry reading in the Highlanes Gallery. Members will share poems and reflections on openness, discovery, celebration, and belonging, with guest writer Nicola Pierce opening the event.

Later that evening, at 7pm, they will host another free poetry reading in The Coffee Box, once again inviting the public to enjoy an evening of words and reflection.

Two members, Marian Clarke and Marie Lyons, will also join the late-night Culture Night events in Drogheda cafés organised by Droichead Arts Centre, performing alongside other poets, musicians, and artists.

Drogheda Creative Writers, who meet twice a month at Droichead Arts Centre, have been supporting local writers for nearly 40 years. The group has collaborated widely, performed at venues including Highlanes Gallery and Drogheda Library, published poetry anthologies, and recently took part in Colm Keegan’s Every Blooming Thing workshop.

All are welcome to attend the group’s Culture Night events.
