Drogheda Cottage Market is celebrating ten years at the heart of the town, continuing to champion local makers, food producers and creative entrepreneurs from across North Leinster.
Now a firm fixture in the local calendar, the market brings together over 50 talented makers and creators, offering an eclectic mix of food, drinks, crafts and design. Visitors can browse original gift ideas ranging from handcrafted jewellery and bespoke artwork to Indian street food, natural skincare, candles, Irish designed fashion, books and vinyl records. Gourmet food lovers will find everything from award winning breads, cakes, chutneys and cheeses to olive oils and locally produced honey.
Organiser Eimear Cullen says, Markets have been at the heart of communities for centuries, and the Drogheda Cottage Market prides itself on bringing talented makers and creators right into the centre of our community. It’s a space where visitors and locals can come along, meet the makers, and enjoy the crafts and award-winning produce in a welcoming, central location close to train and bus routes.
The 10th birthday celebrations will take place on Saturday, March 7th, upstairs in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre from 10am to 5pm. The day will begin with the market’s sensory hour, creating a calm and inclusive shopping experience, followed by the introduction of a new feature, a lively Buskers Corner.
The Ukulele Strummers will light up the atmosphere with a setlist including songs from Abba, Tina Turner and Bruno Mars, followed by local group Mother Vices, adding to the celebratory feel of the day.
Over the past decade, Drogheda Cottage Market has become a cornerstone of community development, championing local talent, supporting grassroots enterprises and reflecting the diverse skills and creativity of people across the region. Working alongside local initiatives, it represents an inclusive approach to building community from within.
The market takes place regularly in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre and continues to draw visitors from across the North East.
Everyone is welcome to join the celebrations on March 7th and be part of one of Drogheda’s true local success stories.
