Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is giving Leaving Cert students a second chance to meet the maths requirements for certain Level 8 Computing and Engineering courses.
An Additional Maths Entry Exam will take place on Friday, 29th August, on the DkIT campus.
This exam is an opportunity for students who have met the basic Leaving Cert pass grade (H7 or O4) but need a higher result to get into their preferred programme.
The exam applies to the following courses:
-
BEng (Hons) in Engineering
-
BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering
-
BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Systems
-
BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering
-
BSc (Hons) in Computing in Games Development
A short preparation course is included in the €30 exam fee and will run on 26–27 August. The exam results will be released within a few days and will be considered for second and third-round CAO offers.
For students who have their hearts set on one of these courses, this is a perfect way to secure a place without having to wait another year.
