DIFE students triumph in Robert Ballagh Art and Photography Competition

Eight students at Drogheda Institute of Further Education have won awards in the 2022 LMETB Robert Ballagh Art and Photography Competition.

The LMETB Robert Ballagh Art Competition has been running for the past six years and Robert Ballagh judged the competition himself this year. His reputation as an artist is renowned both on a national and international stage and provides recognition to the winning entries which will hopefully inspire budding artists.

Des Clinton, award winning photographer and past President of the Irish Association of Amateur Photographers, has judged the Photography entries.

The exhibition of winners for this year’s LMETB Robert Ballagh Art and Photography Competition will take place at the Droichead Arts Centre, Stockwell Street from 11am on Thursday 3rd to 5pm on Saturday 12th of March.

As promised, last year’s winners will be included in this year’s show. Unfortunately, due to the current situation LMETB are unable to hold the usual awards night.

Drogheda Institute of Education would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul McCann for all his work and dedication to art within the LMETB sector and for organising the Robert Ballagh competition every year.
