DIFE awarded Amber Flag for commitment to mental health and wellbeing

Drogheda Institute of Further Education has been recognised for its commitment to mental health and wellbeing after being awarded the Amber Flag by Pieta.

The Amber Flag is presented to organisations that demonstrate excellence in raising awareness of mental health challenges while also putting meaningful supports and initiatives in place within their community.

DIFE said the award reflects the ongoing work of both staff and students in promoting positive mental health across the college.

Through a range of wellbeing initiatives, awareness campaigns and supportive practices, the college has continued to create an environment where people feel valued, supported and encouraged to speak openly about mental health.

College representatives said the achievement is a testament to the compassion, dedication and hard work shown throughout the DIFE community in recognising the importance of mental wellbeing and supporting one another.

Receiving the Amber Flag marks an important milestone for the college and highlights the strong sense of community within DIFE. It also reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to prioritising mental health and wellbeing as an important part of student and staff life.
