Meath Coast Community First Responders (CFR) have installed yet another defibrillator in the Laytown and Bettystown area bringing the number of the life-saving devices they have provided to the local community to ten.
On Thursday last the voluntary group installed their tenth defibrillator in the East Meath area thanks to a wonderful community collaboration which included contributions from St. Colmcilles GAA Club Laytown United FC, Cilles Athletic Club and Councillor Stephen McKee who made a contribution from his discretionary fund.
Meath Coast Community First Responders are a group of volunteers living in the East Meath coastal are who are trained to respond to chest pain, stroke, and cardiac/respiratory arrest 999 emergency calls alongside the ambulance service.
All they ask is that, after a defibrillator has been used that they are told so they can service the device. Please call 085 216 2975.
Councillor McKee told Drogheda Life that he is delighted to have part-funded through the Council Discretionary Fund the installation of the new community defibrillator at Seafield to serve local clubs St. Colmcille’s GAA Club, Cilles Athletic Club, Laytown United and all who use the pitches.
“This is a key piece of equipment for the local community so let’s make sure it’s well looked after’ he said. “Thanks to Meath Coast CFR for installing the unit.”
Below is a list of the defibrillators installed and maintained by the group for use in an emergency. All of the units are unlocked and ready for use at any time.
