Ciara Gustafson Honoured as Drogheda’s Latest Community Champion

You know someone has made a lasting impression when they speak from the heart about their mission to save lives — and moments later, you feel nothing but pride seeing them honoured for it.

Ciara Mohan Gustafson has become the latest recipient of the Drogheda & District Chamber / BD Community Champion Award recognised for her courage, advocacy, and relentless work in raising awareness of Lobular Breast Cancer worldwide.

A Drogheda native now living in Michigan, Ciara is both a survivor and a global patient advocate. Her message of hope, resilience, and awareness has resonated far beyond her hometown.

Just two weeks ago, Ciara returned to Drogheda to speak at World Lobular Breast Cancer Day at Millmount, sharing her personal journey and using her voice to inspire others to take action and push for research and recognition of this specific form of breast cancer.

Her determination and honesty struck a deep chord with those present — and it was only fitting that her hometown community honoured her before she returned to the United States.

Ciara Mohan Gustafson is, as many who know her say, one of a kind — a beacon of courage and compassion whose work continues to make a difference around the world.

Congratulations, Ciara! Drogheda stands proudly behind you.
