Shops also see spike in trade as Laurence Street pedestriainsied for the day
The weather gods were kind to the 12th annual Drogheda Motor Show which took place on Saturday 22nd October and the good weather brought with it lots of footfall to Laurence Street which resulted in plenty of sales.
Nine local franchised motor dealers exhibited on the day, comprising of 18 motor brands between them. There were over 70 new shiny vehicles on display and according to the organisers, over €1.1 million worth of vehicles were sold on that single day alone.
“The Drogheda Motor Show is now an established annual event in the town and the motor dealers should be commended for their commitment to continuing with the show even through the most challenging of times” said Robert Murray, Head of Marketing at First Citizen Finance and President of Drogheda & District Chamber.
Not only did the motor dealers do plenty of business on the day, the businesses on the pedestrianised Laurence Street also reported a spike in trading.
“It was a win – win situation for all involved” Robert said, adding that conversations have already started about the 2023 show!”
This year’s event was supported by First Citizen Finance, Drogheda & District Chamber, Society of the Irish Motor Industry, LHK Group, Louth County Council and the Laurence Street Businesses and Traders.
