It was a brilliant day of darts for a brilliant cause! A huge well done to Paul McGauley, who recently dropped by the Oncology Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to present an incredible cheque for €4,200 to NECRET.
This amazing amount was raised at his annual darts tournament, held in loving memory of his late sister, Ann Kearns (née McGauley).
The Bellewstown Inn was the venue for the great day of fundraising.
The tournament saw some top-class darts action, with Mark Clinton winning the final after a cracking match against Johnny Byrne.
Paul had this to say about the day:
“Another year gone and another great fundraising day of darts in memory of my sister Ann Kearns. Held at the Bellewstown Inn, the event raised €4,200 for the Lourdes Hospital’s Oncology Unit. My sincere thanks to all who sponsored the event, everyone who gave prizes for the raffle, and of course, all the players who competed. A special thanks to the Bellewstown Inn and their staff for looking after everyone so well. I hope to see everyone again next year.”
The NECRET team and the entire Oncology Unit are so grateful for Paul’s dedication and for the generosity of the community. Every single euro raised will go directly to supporting the unit’s vital work.
