The Boyne Midsummer Festival got underway on Friday 19th June with a special evening of music beneath the iconic Boann mural at Drogheda’s Old Abbey.

Echoes of the Abbey, presented by The Coffee Box in association with Droichead Arts Centre, brought festival-goers together in one of the town’s most distinctive settings for an intimate night of live music.

The line-up featured performances from Seán McCluskey, Ortiga with Sarah O’Brien, Inis Hartigan and Derek Murphy, and Daithí McGahon.

Guests also enjoyed food from Graft BruHub as the opening event helped launch this year’s festival.

Set against the backdrop of the striking Boann mural, the concert marked the beginning of a weekend of music, arts and cultural events as part of the Boyne Midsummer Festival.

The Boyne Midsummer Festival 2026 is brought to you by Droichead Arts Centre, Sound Town, Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, The Coffee Box and Love Drogheda.
