Inver Colpa Rowing Club are delighted to announce that Southgate Shopping Centre have come on board as new sponsors for 2025.
Located at Colpe Cross outside Drogheda, Southgate Shopping Centre is the ideal sponsor for a club whose name honours ‘Colpa of the Sword’.
Colpa was an ancient swordsman son of the Milesian’s who drowned at Mornington trying to land his boat and is buried in the ringfort behind the old church in Colpe.
2025 is set to be a huge year for the club as they hope to start construction on their new boathouse on the Boyne, following a grant award of almost €150,000 as part of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme last year.
Speaking at the sponsorship launch, Treasurer Darragh Farrell was optimistic about the year ahead.
“Having Southgate Shopping Centre on board as a main sponsor is yet more positive news for our club, whose membership base is growing year by year” he said. “We are so proud to be carrying on the long standing tradition of rowing on the Boyne.”
