Nugent organises community clean up days in Drogheda estates

Independent election candidate Peter James Nugent has organised two community clean up days taking place in Moneymore on Saturday, 1st of June and in Marleys Lane, Tredagh View and Rathmullen Road on Sunday June 2nd from 12-3pm each day.

These events aim to bring together all residents to work towards a cleaner and more beautiful neighbourhood but also to strengthen the bond of friendship in the various estates.

“We all have a vested interest in maintaining a clean and inviting community. Not only does it make our surroundings more pleasant, but it also helps to create a sense of pride and belonging among residents” Nugent said. “By working together, we can improve the overall quality of life.

As a responsible and caring organisation, we want to do our part in making Drogheda a better place for everyone. That’s why we are calling all residents to participate in these community clean-up days. Whether you are a young child, a busy parent, or a retired senior, your involvement is crucial in making this event a success.

“We have planned fun activities to make this a family-friendly event. There will be face painting for the children to enjoy while their parents participate in the clean-up activities. An ice cream van will also be present to cool down our hardworking volunteers.

“This clean-up day is not just about work; it’s also about building a sense of togetherness and camaraderie within our community. We want to see everyone actively participating in this event and doing their part to improve the neighbourhood.

“No task is too small, and every effort counts towards the bigger goal of creating a cleaner and more beautiful environment. We encourage you to bring your friends, family, and neighbours along. The more hands we have on deck, the easier and more enjoyable the clean-up day will be.

“We understand that a clean-up day can be physically demanding, and so we urge all participants to prioritize their safety. Please wear the appropriate clothing, such as gloves and closed-toe shoes, and stay hydrated during the event. If you have any health concerns, it’s best to consult with your doctor before taking part in this activity.

As the organiser of these events, Nugent is committed to providing the necessary equipment and supplies for the clean-up. There will also be a designated area to dispose of the collected waste. We want to make this process as smooth and efficient as possible. Let’s come together on Saturday, 1st and Sunday 2nd of June, from 12-3pm, to make a positive impact in our community.

“We want to see cleaner, safer, and more attractive estates for all their wonderful residents. Let’s make these community clean-up days a huge success and show that when we work together, we can achieve great things. See you there!
