The Drogheda Tidy Towns Committee in conjunction with Louth County Council is holding a Community Awareness Day at St Dominic’s Park in Drogheda the following Sunday, August 10 between 2 to 4pm.
It is part of a nationwide dog fouling awareness campaign to persuade pet owners to be responsible and to clean up their dog’s poop after them.
Families are encouraged to attend with their dogs.
There will be a dog show with prizes for the Best Dog, face painting, live music, and popular poo costumes handing out free dog bags and doggie treats.
The Louth litter wardens will also be in attendance to answer any questions.
The message of the day will be simple – when it comes to your dog’s poop, bag it and bin it.
Louth County Council said:” Proudly supported by Drogheda Tidy Towns the day will raise awareness in a fun, engaging way with something for all ages to enjoy.
” Dog fouling is more than just a nuisance, it’s a health risk and an issue we can all help solve together.”
