Drogheda Memory Café returns on Tuesday, 13th October.

The next Drogheda Memory Café will take place on Tuesday, 13th October at 11am in Drogheda Library on Stockwell Lane.

This month’s guest speaker will be Mary Kate Hynes, Dementia Clinical Nurse Specialist at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, who will speak about navigating hospital stays with dementia.

The monthly café, organised by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, provides a welcoming space for people living with dementia, their families and friends, as well as health and social care professionals.

It also gives those attending an opportunity to meet others, exchange ideas and share experiences in an informal setting.

Support for people living with dementia

The Drogheda Memory Café takes place on the second Tuesday of every month.

October’s session will focus on the practical challenges that can arise when a person living with dementia is admitted to hospital, with Mary Kate Hynes sharing advice and information from her role at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

The event is open to people living with dementia and those supporting them.
