ACE athletes enjoyed a strong day at the annual Star AC cross country at the weekend, picking up two individual podium finishes along with a number of top 10 and top 20 placings.
Athletes from clubs across Leinster and further afield took part, providing a tough test as the ACE squad continues its preparations for the upcoming Louth Championships.
Finn Murphy got the day off to an excellent start with a podium finish in the under 9 boys race, placing among a large field.
Under 8 athlete Tom Roche also competed in the race and produced another strong performance.
In the under 10 boys race, Harry Reilly finished inside the top 10, with Domhnall McGreal also putting in a good performance.
Millie Roche represented ACE in the girls under 10 race.
Strong performances across age groups
Clara Plunkett and Maeve Reynolds both finished inside the top 20 in the girls under 11 race after running closely together all the way to the finish.
The pair will now turn their attention towards the Louth Championships.
Muirenn Chamass also impressed in the girls under 12 race, finishing inside the top 10 in a competitive field.
Sophie Black continued her return from injury with a good performance in the girls under 13 race, while Imogen Gardner produced a strong run in the girls under 14 event.
ACE’s second podium finish of the day came in the girls under 15 race, where Hannah Black continued her recent progress with another strong performance.
Overall, it was a positive day for the club, with two individual podium finishes and several athletes placing inside the top 10 and top 20.
The Star AC meeting provided another valuable competitive outing ahead of the Louth Championships.
