Drogheda Creative Writers and the Just Write! poetry group will return to Highlanes Gallery this month for a special Culture Night Drogheda event celebrating local writing and poetry.
The groups will come together at the gallery on Friday, 18th September from 3pm to 4.30pm, giving audiences an opportunity to hear work from local poets and writers.
The event forms part of the 21st edition of Culture Night, the annual national celebration of culture, creativity and the arts.
Organisers said they are delighted to once again take part in the programme and to provide a platform for local voices.
Visitors are invited to come along, listen to readings and celebrate Drogheda’s contribution to the wider cultural landscape.
Part of a busy Culture Night at Highlanes
Highlanes Gallery will host a number of Culture Night events throughout the day and evening.
These include a drop-in drawing event in the Children’s Art Exhibition from 11am to 4pm, the Caomhnú Lú – For the Birds harp performance at 6pm and a family ceramics workshop from 6.30pm.
The gallery is located at 36 Saint Laurence Street in Drogheda and is one of the town’s main cultural venues.
Culture Night itself takes place across Ireland on Friday, 18th September, with free events in towns, cities and communities nationwide.
