Irish Rail has confirmed that they are “confident” they will be able to put on additional train services to meet demand for the Louth v Monaghan quarter-final on Sunday.
Louth Labour TD Ged Nash said;
“I contacted Irish Rail this morning on foot of Dundalk based supporters getting in touch who expressed their concerns to me about the capacity of scheduled services to meet demand.
“I am pleased to say that Irish Rail has come back to me to confirm that they are working on this, and that they are ‘confident we will be able to operate some additional services from Dundalk’. They will advise on further updates when confirmation can be made.
“Louth is buzzing since the draw was made on Monday morning, and it is important that supporters from all corners of Louth can be facilitated to get to the match with ease.
“Sunday will be a great occasion, and I want to thank Irish Rail for the work they are doing in this regard.”
Irish rail, have confirmed that the following additional trains will operate this Sunday:
10.10 Dundalk/Connolly
11.00 Dundalk/Connolly
17.55 Connolly/Dundalk
19.05 Connolly/Dundalk
In addition, the 09.57 Drogheda/Connolly will be extended to commence from Dundalk at 09.35.
