Night Moves | Night Cafés
Our Monthly Night Moves Café returns in April.
A collaboration of local organisers building a new vision — Sound Town Night, taking place the last Friday of every month and Droichead are delighted to present our second Night Moves Café for 2026 on Fri 24 April at The Coffee Box. Join us for an evening of live performances from Sive, NøH8Cre8 (No•Hate•Create) and Ross A between 8.30pm – 11pm, drop in, grab a coffee and cake, and enjoy!
Sive, a musician and songweaver from Kildare, has carved a compelling style of alt-folk that is unafraid to diverge from the norm. Her last album We Begin in Darkness received critical acclaim on its release, being described as “truly impressive” by Paul McLoone on RTÉ Arena and “brilliant & compelling” by Hot Press Magazine. She is currently working on her next album which will be released in autumn 2026.
NøH8Cre8 (No•Hate•Create) is the musical alter ego of Drogheda musician, Gene Carolan. Known for his songwriting with local acts, The Cacks and The Carolan Brothers, Gene started NøH8Cre8 as an outlet for songs that hadn’t yet found a place of their own. Drawing on his origins in garage bands and his idiosyncrasies as a self-taught guitarist, Gene intends NøH8Cre8 to be a dynamic and collaborative project, without a fixed lineup or identity. Many sounds bound by one principle: no hate, create!
Ross Breen, now known as Ross A is an Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Leixlip, County Kildare, renowned for his emotive folk-rock and soul-infused compositions that draw on influences from artists like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Serge Gainsbourg. His career gained momentum with the release of his self-produced debut album When I Met the Devil in 2011, which earned critical acclaim and led to performances at major Irish festivals. He has shared stages with prominent acts such as Midlake, Bell X1, Sinéad O’Connor, Damien Dempsey, and Glen Hansard. As Ross A., he released his debut album Vestige in 2025, featuring the single “Heartland Girl”.
Night Moves is an innovative night-time cultural programme led and produced by Droichead Arts Centre, curated by singer/songwriter, SJ McArdle, in collaboration with Drogheda’s Night-Time Economy Adviser and supported by the Drogheda Purple Flag group. Championing a more diverse night-time offering and helping trial what a more balanced evening economy might look like.
