A new photographic exhibition featuring the work of young people from Drogheda and the surrounding area is being organised to encourage students to explore and capture their town through photography.

The project invites secondary school students from Drogheda and East Meath, including both junior and senior classes, to take part in an open submission photography competition. The initiative aims to inspire young people to look at their local environment in a creative way and to reflect on what Drogheda means to them.

Students are encouraged to photograph aspects of the town that highlight what it means to them, its beauty, heritage, and positive features. The organisers hope the project will give young people an opportunity to express their perspective on the town while developing their creative and visual skills.

The initiative has been developed by the Friars of the Augustinian Church and is supported by Roisin Curtis, St. Mary’s Diocesan School and Droichead Arts Centre.

Organisers say the project is designed to engage young people with their community and to celebrate Drogheda through the eyes of the next generation.

Further details about the exhibition and submission process will be shared with participating schools in Drogheda and East Meath.
