Exciting night of competition at Ardee Credit Union Schools Quiz

The Ardee Credit Union ILCU Schools Quiz, held at the Ardee Parish Centre on February 9th, once again proved to be an exciting and closely contested event.

In the under 11 junior competition, which featured ten rounds of questions, Bellewstown National School and Drumconrath National School finished level. After two rounds of tie break questions, Drumconrath National School edged ahead by a single point and now progressed to the next round of the competition.

The under 13 senior competition saw 15 schools take part. Following a highly competitive quiz, Donore National School emerged as winners, finishing two points ahead of second placed Tallanstown National School. Donore National School will also advance to the next stage.

Schools represented on the night included Ballapousta, Bellewstown, Collon, Darver, Dromiskin, Donore, Heronstown, Newtown, Mount Hanover, Duleek Girls School, Monastery, Scoil Mhuire na Trocaire Ardee, Louth Village, Drumconrath and Tallanstown.

The next round of the competition will take place at the Lakeside Manor Hotel in Virginia on Friday, March 6th.
