Drogheda Festivals and Scotch Hall Unite for St Patrick’s Festival 2026

Drogheda Festivals and Scotch Hall Shopping Centre have announced their continued collaboration for St Patrick’s Festival 2026, which will take place from Saturday 15th to Tuesday 17th March, with events beginning at Scotch Hall Shopping Centre.

The 2026 festival theme is Panto, celebrating 75 years of the Drogheda Pantomime Society. The society has been a much-loved part of the town’s cultural life for generations, bringing joy, laughter and creativity to families in Drogheda and beyond. This year’s programme will reflect the colour, fun and theatrical spirit of pantomime while also celebrating Drogheda’s rich cultural traditions.

Speaking about the festival, Sarah Taaffe, Chairperson of Drogheda Festivals, said the team is delighted to once again collaborate with Scotch Hall on the St Patrick’s Festival. She noted that the Panto theme is particularly special as it marks 75 years of the Drogheda Pantomime Society, which has played an important role in the town’s cultural life. She added that the festival is about celebrating community, creativity and heritage, and that organisers are excited to deliver a programme with something for everyone.

Over the four days, festival-goers can look forward to a wide range of events including live traditional Irish music and dancing, céilís, free family entertainment, a fireworks display, a Leprechaun treasure hunt as Gaeilge, Irish culture and heritage workshops, and more.

The centrepiece of the festival will be the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday 17th March, when the streets of Drogheda will come alive with colour, performance and community spirit.

Nichola Kelly, Centre Manager of Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, said Scotch Hall is proud to once again support and host elements of Drogheda’s St Patrick’s Festival. She said the collaboration is about bringing people together and creating memorable experiences for families, visitors and the wider community, while celebrating what makes Drogheda such a vibrant and welcoming town.

St Patrick’s Festival 2026 is presented in association with Drogheda Festivals, Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, Love Drogheda BID, Louth County Council, with main sponsors to be announced.

Further details and the full festival programme will be revealed in the coming weeks.
