Drogheda Credit Union has donated €13,000 to a range of local charities and community organisations this Christmas, supporting groups that provide vital services to families and the most vulnerable across Drogheda.
The festive donations have been awarded to St Vincent de Paul, Connect Family Resource Centre, Drogheda Homeless Aid, Drogheda Hospice, Samaritans Drogheda and North East, St Ita’s Special School, Drogheda LGBT+ Support Group, Drogheda Photographic Club and the Drogheda and District 5k. Together, these organisations play a crucial role in promoting wellbeing, inclusion and community spirit throughout the town.
Chairperson of Drogheda Credit Union, Sheena Kierans, said the charities supported continue to make a significant difference in people’s lives.
“Whether it is through providing support networks, financial assistance, care or compassion, these charities carry out monumental work across our community, looking after people when they need it most. Our donations extend beyond our own initiatives and help strengthen the wider community in meaningful and lasting ways.”
Chief Financial Officer Micheal Ferguson said the Christmas donations reflect the Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to the local area.
“By donating €13,000 this Christmas, we hope to spread some festive cheer and support the incredible work being done right here in Drogheda. Our community is at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to support local organisations not just at Christmas but throughout the year.”
With branches in Drogheda, East Meath, Dunleer and Trim, Drogheda Credit Union makes regular donations on behalf of its members to help improve the communities it serves.
