The countdown is on for people in Louth to submit nominations for the AXA Community Hero Awards, an initiative celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to support their communities.
The awards programme offers a total charity prize fund of €80,000, supporting causes that make a real difference across Ireland.
- Four Community Heroes will be selected nationwide
- Each winner will receive €20,000 for their chosen charity
- Nominations are open across four categories
- Deadline for nominations is 4pm on Monday, January 5th
The awards recognise people who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation or creativity in helping others in their local area.

Members of the public are invited to nominate someone by submitting a short entry of 150 words or less via www.axa.ie, outlining how the nominee has positively impacted their community in one of the four categories.
Elizabeth Arnett, Chief Communications, Brand & Sustainability Officer at AXA Ireland, said AXA has received strong nominations from across the country but believes many unsung heroes are still to be recognised.
“We know there are people working tirelessly in Road Safety, Mental Health, Women’s Safety & Wellbeing, and Sustainability that we have not heard from yet. With just days left, we’re encouraging everyone to nominate these remarkable individuals and let them know their hard work is appreciated.”
Mick Comerford, Direct Retail Director at AXA Ireland, said the Christmas period is an ideal time to reflect on those who make a difference:
“We see so many people making an extra special effort to help others at this time of year. A nomination is a meaningful way to recognise their contribution and show your appreciation.”
