Drogheda Dad Receives Life-Changing Gift of Hearing

Drogheda, Co Louth Jason Eastwood, a 39-year-old father of two from Drogheda, has been selected as the latest recipient of The Gift of Hearing from Hidden Hearing, a nationwide initiative providing free, advanced hearing care to those in need.

Living with bilateral symmetrical sensorineural hearing loss for over a decade, Jason was recently fitted with state-of-the-art Oticon Intent hearing aids by local audiologist Teodora Daneva. These advanced devices will help him reconnect with the everyday sounds and interactions that make life richer.

Jason, an active member of the community, works as a barista and teaches Jiu Jitsu to young children. He says receiving the hearing aids will allow him to be a better role model, particularly for students who may have hearing difficulties.

“Getting these hearing aids has honestly changed so much for me,” Jason shared. “From hearing my children laugh, chatting with customers, to even hearing the kettle boil in the morning everything is so much clearer. I didn’t realise how much I’d been missing. I’m beyond grateful to Hidden Hearing for giving me this part of my life back.”

Audiologist Teodora Daneva said, “Jason’s story truly embodies the spirit of The Gift of Hearing. We’re proud to help him reconnect with the world of sound and support him on his hearing journey.”

As part of the initiative, Jason will receive ongoing support, including six-monthly check-ups to maintain his hearing health.

The Gift of Hearing is an annual campaign from Hidden Hearing that provides free advanced hearing aids and personalised care to deserving individuals across Ireland, showcasing the life-changing impact of better hearing.
