Funding Boost for Louth Family Resource Centres from January 2026

Fianna Fáil TD Erin McGreehan has announced that Family Resource Centres will see a further rise in their core funding from January 2026.

The minimum annual allocation for centres will move from €160,000 to €180,000, with Tusla providing the increase directly. The uplift will bring 100 of the 126 centres nationwide up to the new baseline.

In Louth, the centres receiving additional funding are:

  • Connect FRC – €11,203.18 extra
  • Dundalk Counselling Service – €20,000 extra

Deputy McGreehan said the funding boost will strengthen the essential family and community support offered in centres across the county, highlighting the role they play in providing counselling, educational help, advocacy work and local activities.

She said she has seen the impact of these services firsthand, and believes the increased funding will benefit hundreds of families locally.

Family Resource Centres provide a wide range of support, from emotional and practical assistance to youth programmes, training opportunities, community development and help accessing essential services.
