Garda National Bureau Makes Two Arrests in North East Crime Investigation

Gardai have arrested two people over organised crime in the County Louth area.

It is understood both are in their forties and have connections with Drogheda.

They were detained on Wednesday and are being questioned at Garda stations in Dublin.

Both have links to Robbie Lawlor, the notorious hitman who was shot dead in Belfast in April,2020 in retaliation for the murder of 17 year old Keane Mulready Woods in Drogheda, a crime that shocked the nation.

The two arrests were made by the Garda National Criminal Bureau of Investigations.

The Gardai said in a statement: “An Garda Siochana has arrested two persons in relation to alleged Organised Crime offences. Both persons are detained in the Dublin region under the 2007 Criminal Justice Act. An Garda Siochana has no further comment at this time.”

Garda sources confirmed the pair are being questioned over alleged criminal activity in the north east.
