County Louth has reaffirmed its strong community and environmental spirit, winning five Gold Medals in the 2025 SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition, announced last Friday at Croke Park.
The Gold Medal winners are Blackrock, Dundalk, Drogheda, Ardee, and Dromiskin, with Dromiskin also taking the County Award. Tallanstown and Carlingford received Silver Medals, while Knockbridge earned a Bronze. Omeath was honoured with the Endeavour Award for significant improvement.
Dromiskin also secured the Midlands and East Regional Youth Award and the Greenways and Active Travel Award for its leadership in youth engagement and sustainability.
With 23 towns and villages participating, the results highlight the county’s strong community involvement and partnership between residents, businesses, and Louth County Council.
Cllr Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, praised the achievement, calling it “a testament to the dedication and pride in every town and village.”
Chief Executive David Conway added that the five Gold Medals, one more than last year, reflect the outstanding commitment of volunteers who help make Louth a vibrant and welcoming county.
